The strength of Ezra and Louis' bond was sweet and beautiful. I personally found many of the scenes with Aldessa to be confusing, and I had to re-read them several times before they made sense. I particularly found the final scene with her to be dissatisfying because I don't understand what she did, how she did it, or how Ezra knew that he could deflect it, or that he should.Also, why weren't Ismael or Louis worried about her magical abilities before she came? How did she get some magic into a mirror that she didn't bring with her? Considering that we've seen that once a vampire has tasted their beloved, they can't survive on anything else, and soon waste away without that connection, what was her plan to even get Louis out of Michigan?
